Daisy Carolina Slabbert (ABN 72286047712) trading as Carla Slabbert (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates this website and online store (the “Services”).

At Carla Slabbert, each piece is created and produced with great care. As an Australian business, we comply with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Under the Australian Consumer Law, our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.


30-Day Return Policy

We offer a 30-day return period. You have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return:

  • The item must be in the same condition that you received it

  • Unused and undamaged

  • In its original packaging

  • Accompanied by proof of purchase

  • Including any Certificates of Authenticity (if applicable)

To start a return, please contact us first at 📧 info@carlaslabbert.com. Once your return is approved, we will provide you with the return address and instructions. Items sent back without prior approval will not be accepted.


Consumer Guarantees (Australian Customers)

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

If your item has:

  • A major problem

  • Is significantly not as described

  • Is not fit for its intended purpose

  • Is not of acceptable quality

You are entitled to a refund or replacement.

If the issue is minor, we may offer a repair or replacement in accordance with ACL.


Artwork-Specific Return Terms

1. Original Artworks

Original artworks are unique, one-of-a-kind pieces.

For this reason:

  • Original artworks are considered final sale for change of mind.

  • Returns are only accepted if the artwork:

    • Arrives damaged, or

    • Is significantly not as described.

If damage occurs in transit, please follow the "Damaged in Transit" procedure below.


2. Fine Art Prints (Giclée, Paper Prints, Canvas Prints)

Prints may be returned within 30 days if:

  • They are unopened

  • In original packaging

  • Undamaged

Opened prints may only be returned if defective or damaged.

Custom-sized, special order, or personalised prints are non-returnable for change of mind.


Damaged in Transit

Please inspect your order immediately upon delivery.

If your item arrives damaged:

  • Contact us within 72 hours of delivery

  • Provide clear photographs of:

    • The damaged artwork

    • The packaging

    • The shipping label

Failure to report transit damage within 48 hours may affect your claim.

If damage is confirmed, we will arrange a replacement or refund in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.


Change of Mind Returns

We do not offer refunds for change of mind on:

  • Original artworks

  • Custom or personalised items

  • Sale items

  • Gift cards

For eligible change-of-mind returns (standard prints only):

  • Customer is responsible for return shipping costs.

  • Original shipping costs are non-refundable.

  • Items must be returned in protective packaging to prevent damage.

We recommend using tracked and insured shipping, as we cannot accept responsibility for items damaged during return transit.


Return Shipping Costs

If the return is due to:

  • Defect

  • Damage

  • Incorrect item sent

We will cover return shipping costs.

If the return is for change of mind:

  • Customer is responsible for return shipping.

  • International customers are responsible for any customs duties or import charges.


Exchanges

The fastest way to receive a different item is to return the original item (if eligible) and place a new order once the return is approved.


European Union Customers – 14 Day Cooling Off Period

If your order is shipped to the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days of delivery, for any reason and without justification.

Items must:

  • Be unused

  • In original packaging

  • Include proof of purchase

Custom and personalised items are excluded from this right where permitted by law.

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is defective.


Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you whether your refund is approved.

If approved:

  • Refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 10 business days.

  • It may take additional time for your bank or credit provider to process the refund.

International Customers

For international returns:

  • Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility unless the item is defective.

  • Customs duties and import taxes are non-refundable.

  • We are not responsible for delays caused by customs authorities.
