Inspired by Psalm 23, The Valley of the Shadow reflects the lived experience of walking through seasons of darkness while being upheld by the abiding presence of the Good Shepherd. Though the path feels narrow and the shadows press in, fear is dispelled by the nearness of Christ; the One who goes before, prepares a table in the midst of trial, and offers the cup of life that overflows into eternity.

This artwork speaks of passing through, not remaining; of light that leads us home, and of the quiet assurance known by every child of God who has discovered that the Shepherd does not leave us, even in the deepest valley.
